The Heathman’s values and operations revolve around being environmentally engaged in Kirkland and promoting sustainablility, use of organic natural products and earth awareness. We’ve even adopted Kirkland's downtown Heritage Park, volunteering manhours to work with the Parks Department, once a month, on upkeep and care.  Our "One Good Deed" package is offered to people who wish to participate with this green practice that branches out into our community.  

Eco Friendly Initiatives

At the Hotel: 

• Intelligent environmental control thermostats in guest rooms and public areas-allow for preferred comfort level when room is occupied, returning automatically to established low energy levels when room is unoccupied (via a sensor module)
• Heat recovery ventilator, using less energy to re-heat new air
• Energy Star halogen lighting and fixtures with motion detectors, timers and dimmers
• Installed only Energy-efficient appliances
• Recycling program for glass, aluminum and paper **
• All-natural, biodegradable cleaning and maintenance solutions
• Provide full access, complimentary subscription for online Wall Street Journal
• Provide guest transportation via our own luxury, Hybrid SUV for guest transportation in the area 
• Contract with Seattle Green Limo as a back-up town car or limosine service for guests
• Offer use of Swobo Urban bicycles for touring, sightseeing and commuting to local businesses via eco-friendly transportation

Penterra Spa
Our name (“pente” for meaning five, and “terra” meaning earth) establishes our mission to engage the five senses using natural elements from our rich earth

• Consciously use product lines in all treatments and services that contain natural oils and many organic ingredients including 100% organic U-Spa, Sundari and and Vegan Nail Polish (100% vegan, with no animal testing nor formaldehydes)
• Introduced the well known Susan Posnick organic mineral cosmetics to the Seattle-Kirkland area
• Offer complimentary transportation via our luxury, hybrid SUV "to and from" Penterra within a 4 mile radius of the hotel (with confirmed reservation, contact a Spa Concierge)

Trellis Restaurant

Executive Chef Brian Scheehser (named by Seattle Magazine as a “Best Green Chef”) creates fresh cuisine, featuring produce grown in an organic manner on his 10-acre transitional, Salmon-Safe certified farm, along with other products sourced from the region’s artisan and organic suppliers.

• All fryer oil is recycled and used for bio-diesel
• All egg and produce food scraps are recycled into compost for use on Chef’s Farm
• Green houses built on the Farm provide fresh produce year-round
• Offer complimentary transportation via our luxury, hybrid SUV "to and from" Trellis within a 4 mile radius of the hotel (with confirmed reservation, contact Trellis for arrangments)
