Featuring 15 participating galleries, this monthly event is a great chance to enjoy some local and contemporary art and culture for free. Bring your friends, pick up a walking map and enjoy a self-guided tour of this cultural hotspot. Kirkland’s art scene ranges from quirky and vibrant to sophisticated and international, and this exciting event gathers together art lovers, music fans, families, couples and young people out for a good time. The art galleries of downtown Kirkland open their doors, often offering complimentary libations and nibbles, wine tastings, demonstrations or artist meet-and-greets. You’ll also find live music throughout the city streets, along with a festive atmosphere and cultured crowd. Discover exhibitions of modern photography, décor painting, sculpture and mixed media at numerous local galleries including Lakeshore Gallery, Park Lane Gallery, Jennifer Winter Photography Studio, Howard/Mandville Gallery, Kirkland Painting Company and many more. Local restaurants and bars also feature drink specials and happy hour deals on art walk night. Easy to navigate and explore, Kirkland’s 2nd Friday Art Walk is a free, family-friendly event that takes place from noon until 8PM in the city’s downtown neighborhood. As the day goes on, the energy ramps up – and the evening crowd is often downright giddy. You’ll find free parking for the art walk at the Kirkland Library, located at 308 Kirkland Avenue.
