Savor First Tastings from Chef Scheehser's Seattle Winery

$35 in Advance
$40 at the Door
Our very own Executive Chef Brian Scheehser hosts an extra special installment of our VinTimate wine and art series in San Juan Ballroom, 5-8 pm on January 28th. What makes the night so momentous is the fact that the featured winery is none other than Chef Scheehser's small-batch, "Garagiste" passion project, Piggyback Cellars. Already a dedicated farmer on his 18-acre plot in nearby Woodinville, Chef Scheehser has long marveled at the role environment plays in the quality of his ingredients, crafting dishes to highlight the season that pair perfectly with wine. Naturally, winemaking became the next step in his evolution as a culinary master.
The Celebrated Debut of Piggyback Cellars
Executive Chef & Winemaker Brian Scheehser will pour first tastings of his 2012 and 2013 Amber Roussane and Syrah wines, each vintage varietal limited to just 55 cases. It's this family owned and operated, small-batch mentality that classifies Piggyback as "vins de garage," or garage wines, crafted with a passion for the grape and "terroir" from which it grows.
Old World Wine for A New World
Piggyback grapes are nurtured and harvested in Washington's Yakima Valley. The Amber Roussane is inspired by Scheehser's affinity for Italian orange wines, while Syrah (both young and old) is one of the state's most renowned varietals.
An Evening of Wine, Art, & Music
VinTimate is a night for all the senses, full of delicious wines and seasonal, farm-inspired bites, as the naturalistic paintings of Kim Wheaton and Impressionist photographs of Mark Hussein marry with live music to elevate the evening into the sublime.
