Trail-Ride On A Complimentary Bicycle - Kirkland Hotel Deals
Cross Kirkland Corridor Trail
108th Avenue NE to Slater Avenue NE
As a guest at The Heathman Hotel, you're welcome to enjoy a complimentary bicycle to explore the Eastside throughout your stay. One of our most popular Kirkland hotel deals, our fleet of Swobo "Dixon" bikes offer the perfect mix of versatility and style, equally suited for cruising the streets or hitting the trail. Speaking of trails, the Cross Kirkland Corridor (CKC) recently opened, connecting 8 of the city's 13 neighborhoods, from Totem Lake in the north to the South Kirkland Park-and-Ride.
Kirkland's Newest, Most Expansive Bike Trail
The Cross Kirkland Corridor has forever changed cycling on Lake Washington's Eastside. For the first time ever, there's a designated walking, running, and bike path to navigate our hilly waterfront city. At 6.3 miles, the surprisingly level trail is made up of compacted, hard-pack gravel, making it friendly for cyclists of all skill levels. Designed with the past and future in mind, it's built upon the 42-mile Eastside Rail Corridor, and is the first step in uniting communities on our side of the lake with a safe, quiet path for recreationists. While most of the rail ties have been removed, the route's previous incarnation is still quite tangible.
A Gateway to Tomorrow
Not only is the CKC a wonderful new throughway for sightseeing, it's also a fundamental part of Kirkland's future. Formerly an abandoned railway, businesses now see promise in developing along its scenic edges, including the ever-expanding presence of Google. For a taste of what's to come, be sure to cool off with a beer on the trail-facing outdoor deck at Chainline Brewing Company (503 6th St S), less than a mile from our hotel.
