Taking place on Memorial Day, 7 Hills of Kirkland is an exciting bicycle race that attracts riders from all over the country. Featuring a scenic route that begins and ends along the Kirkland waterfront, the race cruises along urban, suburban, and rural roads. Along the way, there will be challenging ascents, wonderful descents, delicious food stops, and even a bagpiper. Riders can choose from three different courses:
- Traditional 7 Hills of Kirkland Course: 40 miles long with 3,000 feet of climbing, looping around Kirkland and over the following seven hills: Market, Juanita, Seminary, Norway, Kingsgate, Winery and Rose.
- Metric Century Course: Extends eastward from the 7 Hills course, with 11 hills and 4,600 feet of climbing. The additional hills include McWhirter, Novelty, Education-outbound and Education-return.
- Century Course: Going even further east into the Snoqualmie Valley, this route features 7,000 feet of climbing and 14 total hills. The additional hills include Stillwater, Union, High Bridge and Maltby.
