Attracting more than 20,000 revelers - mostly wearing green - the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Downtown Seattle is a boisterous affair for everyone. It's just one part of the St. Patrick's Day festivities, which include games, activities and parties throughout the weekend of March 12 and 13 - mostly centered around Seattle Center. The parade itself features a spirited collection of marching groups, bagpipers and performances. Kicking off at 12:20 pm on Saturday, March 12, the St. Patrick's Day Parade starts on 4th Avenue at Jefferson, then cruises down 4th Avenue until it reaches Pine Street. It officially ends at Seattle Center, with the closing ceremonies taking place at 2 pm. You can ride the Seattle Monorail for free from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm on the day of the parade, for easy travel between Seattle Center and Westlake Park.
