The Seattle Holiday Season Marches into Town
Salty's Magical March of the Nutcrackers
20 Greater Seattle locations
(The Heathman Hotel included)
Originally a Downtown public art project, the Emerald City's annual Nutcracker March expanded its reach in 2007. That's when Salty's Restaurant Group acquired the dozens of hand-carved, painted, and uniquely themed seven-foot creations. Their new home also meant fresh ways to celebrate the season, as every year since they've spread out across town to officially welcome the holidays in Seattle at some of the city's hottest places - like right here at The Heathman Hotel!
Here at The Heathman Hotel
Proud home to one of Salty's most impressive nutcrackers, we've got all sorts of festivities in store during his stay, November 7-14th. Please feel free to take your picture with him, post it on social media, and follow the posted directions to find another nutcracker. Think of it as a seasonal scavenger hunt, with festive surprises everywhere you turn!
Where Are the Nutcrackers Marching?
Starting with ours, each statue has clues and instructions as to where to find another. With a total of 20 statues scattered across the Greater Seattle area, it's enough to keep you busy all week (along with plenty of sightseeing along the way, of course). On November 14th, they'll be taken to the convention center in preparation for their appearance in the Holiday Parade the day after Thanksgiving.
Macy's Holiday Parade
It all leads up to this, Seattle main event to kick-off the holiday season. Salty's Nutcrackers march through the streets of Downtown alongside 25 floats, marching bands, and upwards of 700 costumed revelers, before welcoming guests at their famous namesake restaurants throughout December.
