October 17th, 24th, & 31st
9 am-3 pm
The 40th season of the oldest farmers' market in the Eastside is almost over, and you don't want to miss it! Every May through October since 1976, our neighbor city of Redmond hosts a vibrant, bustling open-air marketplace for local farmers, artists, and cooks to come together once a week and share the fruits of their labor. It's no secret that Washington is known for its fresh organic produce, everything from apples and berries to fresh herbs and veggies. We also have a lot of happy cows, which means lots of artisanal cheese. You'll also find prime cuts of free-range meat, cage-free eggs, fresh-caught fish and coffee right out of the roaster. Nearly 200 vendors frequent the market, so every week the selection changes.
Snack Here, Snacks at Home
Knockout Seattle-area food trucks, carts, and restaurants set up shop alongside mom-and-pop outfits to feed the hungry masses homemade dishes like pulled pork sliders, tamales, pizza, crepes, sandwiches and pastries. Of course, many vendors also sell things to snack on, so keep your eye out for unique pickles, raw honey, jellies, jams, jerky and sauces.
What to Expect Through October
The season may be winding down, but the party is just starting! In fact, the last installment of 2015 happens to fall on Halloween - which promises to be the best market of the year! To give you an idea what to expect, here's what's happing over the next few weeks, just 4 miles from The Heathman:
- October 17th - Live folk music from Jake Nannery.
- October 24th - Live music, pet adoptions and gardening tips.
- October 31st - Pet Costume Parade at 12 noon, and an alpaca petting area.
