Free Fun for All: Kirkland Summerfest 2013
Come join the fun at the second annual Kirkland Summerfest 2013 coming to Kirkland Marina Park on August 9, 10 and 11.
For three summer days, the park gets transformed into a giant celebration of creativity, artistic inspiration and community spirit as thousands flock here to enjoy live music performances, beer gardens, excellent local food and games for the family, making it one of the most popular Kirkland events of the year.
The festival kicks off on Friday, August 9, with a free performance of Shakespeare's The Tempest at 7 pm.
Grab a bite at over 20 food trucks, bringing innovative and plain crazy takes on familiar favorites. Find a place in the shade and relax with friends at the beer and wine gardens. Cheer on the most imaginative vessel at Moss Bay Cardboard Boat Regatta, and make your pick for the best theme dressed team and the most spectacular sinking. Take part in a real Dragon Boat race or T-37 remote-controlled sailboats brave the waves on their quest for prize.
Families are sure to have a great time with Kid Zone filled with rides and games, Young Artists Exhibit and Robots! a student competition and demo of battle bots.
Looking for artistic inspiration? Browse through the spectacular works of art at Sculptures in the Park and watch plein air artists do their magic in front of your eyes at Art in the Park.
And of course, don't miss Rotary Club's annual Duck Dash, a family favorite.
