Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a sea of green at the 2nd Annual Kirkland Shamrock 5K & Family Fun Run, taking place this Saturday, March 16th starting at 9 AM. Run, walk, or skip your way along the scenic course, which offers beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains and Lake Washington. An exciting event for runners, sports enthusiasts, families, the Irish and anyone else who wants to join in the fun, the Kirkland Shamrock Run features costumed contestants- so be sure to wear your best St. Patty's Day regalia! From sparkly green hats and smart green suits to green unitards, green dresses and green sports gear, anything green goes- as long as it's festive, fun, and lets you run! More like an interactive holiday parade than a serious sports competition, the Kirkland Shamrock Run 2013 ends up at the Wilde Rover Irish Pub and Restaurant, the finish line/pot of gold at the end of the race, where competitors will receive free entrance to the Beer Deck & Party (must be 21 and over). At the finish line, you'll also find delicious food trucks, sponsor exhibitions and contests for the most festively attired runners and dogs. So wear your best and brightest St. Patrick's Day attire to the race, and bring a can-d0 attitude to the starting line!
